The name of the research institute, ‘PAROC’ is coined adjoining the letters which signifies the its objectives, strategies and vision. The letters P, A, R, O,and C signify Pastoral, Animation, Research, Outreach,and Centre, respectively. Hence , the institute serves as a centre for pastoral animation, pastoral research ,and pastoral outreach with the goal of buliding up the ecclesial community and society. The institute, designed to focus on interdisciplinary research in sociopastoral studies, will disseminate the research findings through outreach programmes. Furthermore, the institute wishes to strengthen pastoral and missionary animation in the Church in India and Asia.
