The name of the institute, ‘PAROC’ is coined adjoining the letters which signify the objectives, strategies and vision of the Institute. The letters P, A, R, O, C signify Pastoral, Animation, Research, Outreach, Centre, respectively. The Institute is thus, a centre for Pastoral Animation, Pastoral Research and Pastoral Outreach. The Institute which is designed in a way to focus on inter-disciplinary research in socio-pastoral studies will disseminate the research findings through outreach programmes. Besides, the Institute would like to strengthen pastoral and missionary animation in the Church in India and Asia.
